Why Aren’t You Smiling?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Dallas Dentistry Hello, I’m Dr. Joseph Miranda DDS.  My cosmetic dental practice is called Travis Walk Dental Care. We are located at 4514 Travis Street, Suite 117, Dallas, TX. You can reach us by calling 214-206-9633.

You can probably imagine why I look at smiles everywhere I go in the Dallas area. Whether I am working with a Mid-cities dental patient, having dinner at a the metroplex restaurant, or attending a Ft. Worth sporting event, I notice whether the people around me smile. Whenever I encounter someone with obvious tooth problems, I want to tell them about the procedures that can completely transform their frown into a healthy and beautiful smile.

Are you one of those people who don’t want to show their teeth? I would love to talk to you about a smile makeover. Whatever your excuse is for not seeking dental treatment, I can discuss all of your concerns with you during a free consultation.

Perhaps you are afraid of dental work. Have you ever considered oral conscious sedation? With sedation dentistry, even extensive treatment is virtually pain free. Sedation will calm your mind as well as the nerves in your mouth.

Perhaps the cost of Dallas cosmetic dentistry is holding you back. My classy and technologically advanced staff will be happy to talk to you about financing plans. It is important to remember that if your teeth are decayed, postponing treatment will cost more money in the long run. Filling a cavity is far more affordable dentistry than a root canal procedure or, in the case of an extracted tooth, a dental implant.

You can contact my office at 214-206-9633 or online at http://www.rusmiling.com. My Dallas family dental website contains information about all the general, restorative and aesthetic services we provide.

I can transform your smile into one that you will want to show all the time!

What Does A Missing Tooth Say About You?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Dallas Mini-Implants When you meet someone in Dallas who is missing a front tooth, what does that say to you? Do you wonder if they were in an accident? Do you automatically start making assumptions about their income, level of education and overall physical health?

Though it is extremely unfair, we are often judged (and misjudged) by our appearance. Even if a person is impeccably dressed and groomed, a missing front tooth detracts from the overall pleasing impression.

Here is a personal story from a woman who lost a tooth:

I lost my job and along with it my dental insurance, then a month later, one of my front teeth. It has been very hard to find work…. and I know the missing tooth has cost me several jobs.”

A missing tooth can be a big deal.

Dental implants not only restore oral health, they restore self-confidence. Dental implants are a permanent solution for missing teeth. Studies have shown that after more than 20 years, the vast majority of dental implants placed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons continue to function at peak performance. If properly cared for, dental implants can last a lifetime.

Dental implants are one of the procedures we routinely perform at Travis Walk Dental Care to help our Dallas clients regain the beautiful smile they once had. Not all cosmetic dental procedures are as extreme as teeth implants. There are many minimally-invasive remedies for unattractive smiles.

Porcelain veneers instantly provide a perfect, gleaming tooth surface for Dallas clients with broken or discolored teeth. Tooth whitening is a quick and affordable dentistry procedure in the metroplex that achieves dramatic results without requiring the removal of any tooth structure. Call Travis Walk Dental Care at 214-206-9633 for more information about smile design and restorative dentistry.

Bacteria are a common cause of tooth decay. Bacteria live in your mouth and combine with plaque and acids to break down the enamel coating on your teeth. How Mini Dental Implants Can Help Your Smile In 75205

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

How Mini Dental Implants Can Help Your Smile in 75205 I’m Dr. Joseph Miranda, a dental implant dentist in the 75205 area. In a recent post, I explained how traditional dental implants are used to dramatically improve the lives of my Dallas denture and cosmetic dentistry clients. Today’s topic is mini dental implants, sometimes called ‘immediate implants’.

Though they are not as well known as traditional tooth implants, mini implants are also being used successfully to improve smiles. Like their larger diameter counterparts, mini implants can support a restoration for one or more missing teeth or replace a bridge or fixed denture. Ft. Worth tooth restoration clients and denture wearers benefit greatly from these slip free dental implants that are anchored securely in the jaw bone.

In some cases, a patient is unable to receive traditional full-size dental implants due to insufficient bone thickness. There are also Dallas mini implant patients who are not able to undergo dental implant surgery due to health issues. These Dallas over-denture patients are often excellent candidates for the mini version.

The placement of toothpick-size mini dental implants can usually be done in one dental visit. The placement usually requires no incisions or stitches. Recovery time, if necessary, is usually very short. Most patients are able to eat dinner that evening.

Many Dallas aesthetic dentistry clients are happy to learn that mini implants are a lower cost dental implants option. Don’t let the word ‘mini’ fool you; Your smile can receive a maximum upgrade with mini dental implants.

Tooth-Colored Fillings in Dallas

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Tooth-Colored Fillings in Dallas Hello! Welcome to the Travis Walk Dental Care blog. If this your first visit, we hope you find useful information about our Dallas cosmetic dentistry practice. If you have read some of our previous articles, we are glad you checked back with us. We post new articles regularly.

My name is Dr. Jospeh Miranda, DDS. I have been practicing dentistry in Dallas since 1991. Travis Walk Dental Care is a full-service dental office located at 4514 Travis Street, Suite 117, in Dallas, Texas. In addition to providing comprehensive examinations and deep cleanings for clients in the Dallas area, we perform all types of tooth restorations.

When a tooth has decay or has been damaged, a dental restoration is needed to ‘restore’ the tooth to its previous intact condition. A dental filling is one of the most common and well-known types of restorations. A dental filling is used to repair decayed or damaged tooth surfaces. Most people have a few fillings in their mouth.

If you have old silver amalgam fillings, we can replace them with nearly-invisible fillings tooth colored. These fillings are made out of a strong composite resin. Many of our cosmetic dentistry patients have replaced their old silver fillings with fillings matched to their teeth. You can improve your smile instantly and relatively inexpensively by getting rid of the ‘metal’.

Another reason some clients have had their old fillings replaced is because they are concerned about the possible heavy metal toxicity of the mercury in the silver.

If you would like to replace your amalgam fillings, call us at 214-206-9633 to schedule a consultation. We are currently accepting new patients and would be happy to show you around our Dallas cosmetic dental office and introduce you to our friendly team.

Smile – it increases your face value!

How Dental Implants are Changing Dentures in Dallas

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

How Dental Implants are Changing Dentures in Dallas If you are one of the many Dallas denture wearers, you know that they are not the ideal solution for missing teeth.

The problems with dentures include slipping, gum irritation, trouble eating and talking, bone loss, and inability to taste food due to a covered palate. Clearly, dentures do not feel and function like natural teeth.

Good oral hygiene and regular dental checkups can help you avoid the need for dentures later in your life, but other factors can make dental replacements an inevitability.

The good news? Modern dental implant technology is making dentures a thing of the past.

At Travis Walk Dental Care we have information and expertise that can help bring hope to Dallas denture wearers through dental implant technology. There are a variety of effective denture/implant tooth configurations.

Call Travis Walk Dental Care at 214-206-9633 to book an implant overdenture consultation with dentist Dr. Joseph Miranda. We can help you understand your options and can recommend options.

If you currently wear traditional dentures and are not happy with them, implant anchored dentures may dramatically change your life. Your chewing ability will be similar to that of natural teeth and you will be able to eat hard foods again. How about a thick T-bone at your favorite Dallas steakhouse? In addition to being able to enjoy your meal, you will avoid the embarrassment of having your dentures rattle around in your mouth in public.

Before you pay for another denture reline, ask your Dallas dentist about the possibility of dental implants. While tooth implants are a significant investment, the dental implant cost is very reasonable when you consider they can last a lifetime.

Attention Dallas denture wearers: there is life after dentures with tooth implants!

Come see us at Travis Walk Dental Care at 4514 Travis Street, Suite 117, Dallas, TX in Dallas, 75205 for more information about dental implants.

Celebrity Smiles in Dallas

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Veneers in Dallas How do celebrities obtain brilliant white smiles always ready for the red carpet or a close-up? Do they avoid coffee? Not likely. Every star-watching magazine is full of pictures of famous people holding Starbucks cups. Do they avoid tobacco? Some probably do, but many actors and fashion models with dazzling white smiles are smokers.

Very few people (famous and non-famous alike) with perfect teeth were born with them. (…Sure, no one is born with teeth, but you know what I mean.) Celebrities have perfect smiles because they have undergone cosmetic dentistry.

Guess what? You can also have a smile like a supermodel or television news anchor because Dr. Joseph Miranda at Travis Walk Dental Care has as much experience and training in advanced cosmetic dentistry as any Hollywood cosmetic dentist.

Dr. Mirand has been providing smile makeovers for Dallas and Ft. Worth dental clients since 1991. Tooth whitening is the most affordable cosmetic dentistry procedure. Tooth bleaching quickly perks up your teeth and makes you feel like smiling all the time!

Porcelain veneers are used often in cosmetic dental offices because they correct myriad problems. Veneers remedy misshapen teeth, cracks and chips, and discolored teeth. Teeth that have been worn down extensively can also be repaired with veneers. Preparing a tooth for a porcelain veneer is minimally invasive. The latest veneers do not require the removal of healthy enamel. Another plus: veneers are usually less expensive than complete crowns!

Tooth bleaching and veneers are just two of the many cosmetic dental procedures performed at Travis Walk Dental Care. Schedule a Dallas cosmetic dental consultation today by calling 214-206-9633. At our office, you will always receive VIP treatment, without the annoying paparazzi!

We look forward to helping you achieve a celebrity smile.
